Infant Classes and Groups
We have several classes created specifically for parents and the youngest members of your family. It is so important for babies to get a good start to life and we are here to help. All the group classes that are for infants are aimed at supporting parents and providing answers to the many questions you may have. We will tackle tummy time and other developmental milestones. These sessions allow parents to freely ask questions during the session and learn from other parents. These sessions are all led by a Physical Therapist.
Tummy Time Support Class, aka Gentle Seeds
Our Tummy Time class is called Gentle Seeds. It runs on an 8 week cycle. Parents and their infant are free to attend just one class, join us for the 8 week cycle, or continually attend until their infant ages out. This class is for infants under 7 months old. Each of the 8 weeks will cover a different topic. After 8 weeks, the cycle will repeat.
We ask that parents do not bring any siblings or extra family members to this class. 1 or 2 parents/caregivers may attend with the infant. The youngest members of our families are very vulnerable. Class size is limited to 10 infants and their participating adult.
Each week the Physical Therapist will lead you and your infant through a sequence of developmental activities, including tummy time. Discussion is welcome during the class. The PT will focus on discussing the week’s topic, but other questions are welcome as well. Each class is 40 minutes long. During the session, the PT will walk around the room providing guidance for each activity.
All of our toys and mats are cleaned after each class to help protect the health of our participants. We appreciate your help with the cleanup, but it is not mandatory. Parents are welcome to bring blankets and their own toys if they would prefer.
Here is the weekly rotation:
Week 1: Sleep and SIDS
Week 2: Tummy Time Troubleshooting
Week 3: Developmental Milestones
Week 4: Things I Wish Parents Knew
Week 5: Feeding
Week 6: Torticollis and Plagiocephaly
Week 7: Struggling Parents
Week 8: Transitions, Ask the PT

Sitting and Crawling Support Class, aka Little Leaves
Our sitting and crawling support class is called Little Leaves. This is the class that follows Gentle Seeds in our fitness class sequence and is for infants between 6 and 12 months old.
Each week the Physical Therapist will lead you and your infant through developmental activities and movement skills that are aimed at getting your child moving. During this time frame, movement changes the way babies view the world and stimulates cognitive growth. Each 40 minute long class challenges your child to strengthen their body and move in ways that it hasn’t before. This leads to progression in gross motor skills, but also has carryover into speech, fine motor skills, and cognitive skills.
All of our toys and mats are cleaned after each class to help protect the health of our participants. We appreciate your help with the cleanup, but it is not mandatory. Parents are welcome to bring blankets and their own toys if they would prefer.
Torticollis Treatment and Support Class
Our Torticollis Treatment and Support Class is geared specifically towards assisting families and infants with torticollis or plagiocephaly. This class is geared towards providing parents with the tools necessary to eliminate torticollis. This class is for infants under 1 year old with torticollis. We have extensive experience treating torticollis and have seen great success.
It is important to note that the earlier your child begins treatment, the shorter the necessary treatment time for torticollis. You don’t need to wait for the doctor to send you to physical therapy. We can get you started right away. If you are concerned your child has torticollis, we offer a free consultation.
We ask that only 1 or 2 caregivers attend this class with the infant.
Each week the Physical Therapist will lead you and your child through stretches, strengthening exercises, tummy time, and other activities to help address the strength and range of motion deficits common with torticollis. The PT will walk around the room giving each family a little one-on-one time. Each class will be 40 minutes long. Various parenting topics will be discussed as time allows during class. We welcome dialogue and questions during the class.
All of our toys and mats are cleaned after class. We appreciate your help with the cleanup, but it is not mandatory. Parents are welcome to bring blankets and their own toys if they would prefer.
We also offer treatment of plagiocephaly without the use of a helmet. This treatment is most effective before 4 months of age, but can still work afterwards. In mild to moderate cases, the need for a helmet can often be prevented.
Photographs will be taken and stored in your child’s medical file to monitor progress. These photos will not be used for anything other than monitoring progress without your consent.
